No expert on Engine noises but the Buick V-6 has plenty.I replaced all my lifters on my first VN(less than 100,000 K's) in the early 1990's after a mechanic told me i had "sticking lifters,a common VN fault".The new ones fitted had the same ticking noise so i gave up after that and decided to drive the car until something broke.
