Why do you say that the ecm is not compatable?? What series VR is it?? If it is the series one with the buick in it it should be compatable. Series 2 with the ecotec wont be though.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

| im sure everything up to an ecotec is 32 bit, in the eco's they went to 64 bit |

| @vnsvle all vr's were buicks for the only differance between a vr and vs is the ecotec v6, seat cover design on some models and vs's had speed alerts standard instead of the 'coin' holder |

| the series 1 vr had interchangable parts the only difference was the ecm that u could tune on the fly ( u cant do that with the vn ) the eco tec is another thing all together !! every thing is electric, the comp in the eco's wont even recongnise the the vn's!!! |

| I would have to disagree with you nodg about all vr's being buicks i know for a fact that the series 2 vr's where the first to come out with the ecotec. Also another feature with the ecotec was the electronically controled auto. |

No flies on you guys is there!
The ute is a VS not a VR, my mate always refers to it as a VR so I just put VR without thinking when I posted.
It does have the ecotec system!
He's happy to know that he does in actual fact own a VS :)

| yeah I was under the impession that the vr had a s1 motor that was the same as s2 in a vn-vp but then they had the eco as well! The vr ecm should be able to slot in with a bit of muckin around !! But in sayin that the s2 motor's would be the only 1 that would suit the vn-vp cause the fact of the s2 vr engine are a eco tec wich the vn wont even aknowladge! |

| can we still be friends? but yeah that why there way no body changes in the vs, all the money building the vr was for the body, then for the vs all the building was the ecotec motor to go into the new body. |
